Nesin Cultural Arts (NCA) serves the community by providing comprehensive lifelong learning opportunities through integrated arts-based partnerships and programming that enhance artistic creativity and provide educational experiences and opportunities for personal and professional growth. NCA promotes the importance of the arts in enhancing the quality of community life by contributing to economic development, inspiring creativity, celebrating diversity, and fostering an awareness of world cultures.
SCCO brings professional musicians together to perform in Sullivan County. These members are dedicated to the SCCO mission to serve the community and elevate the quality of life for all generations through artistic expression, cultural experiences and education.

The Aspiring Young Musicians (AYM) program provides students aspiring to develop their musicianship with regular private lessons by professional musicians. Students enrolled in the program receive, private lessons, opportunities to perform in large and small ensembles and perform in the community outreach program. Students receive instruction in History Style and Culture and participate in a Side by Side concert with the newly created Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra.

Teaching Artists provide classes in Chorus, Dance, Drama and Visual Arts from September - June. The culmination is a collaborative Integrated Arts Project where students participate in workshops by Visiting Teaching Artists in stage craft (set and lighting) and front and back of house. Student participate in Outreach performance opportunities throughout the community including playing side by side with professionals.

The Nesin Cultural Arts Summer Music Academy and Visual Arts Institute programs are designed for those who strive to achieve the highest level possible in their technique. Schedule includes technique class, lessons, supervised practice and ensembles. These weeklong intensives culminate in an Art Show and Faculty Student Recital.

For over three years, my son has been enrolled in Nesin’s Aspiring Young Musicians (AYM) program. In that time, I have seen, firsthand, the positive affect that AYM has had on my son; not only in his musical education (which has been tremendous), but in his growth and development into a responsible young man.
